Education at AEA encompasses a wide range of formal and informal training offerings, including certification training, multifamily Weatherization training and related courses delivered on-site and via its Distance Learning Network, EA-Quip energy modeling software webinars, guest speakers on technical topics, sessions held for contractor qualification and orientation, and presentations on new technology.  We offer more than 50 courses for building performance professionals, energy efficiency and technical and program staff, installers, weatherization workers, and job seekers in green industries.

We provide in-person training at our Energy Management Training Center in the Bronx (New York City) and in Emeryville, California. Our state-of-the-art Bronx facility provides students offers classroom and hands-on training settings, and serves as a working lab for innovations and developments in sustainable energy resources and renewable technology.  We also deliver courses at participating Weatherization Training Centers across the country, and either in-person or via our interactive distance learning platform.

AEA educators and trainers are recognized as some of the very best in the field, with experience in energy auditing and design, workscope and specification development, project management, quality assurance, managing and developing programs, and related subjects.  AEA trainers are skilled in communicating effectively with adult learners at all levels.

A leading authority on multifamily energy efficiency, one of the nation’s first BPI affiliates, a BPI Test Center, and a National Weatherization Training Center accredited by the interstate renewable Energy Council for advanced Home Energy Professional training programs, AEA has been instrumental in developing standards, curriculum and best practices that underlie the knowledge, skills and abilities workers require to achieve energy efficiency goals in buildings.
