Efficiency Programs

AEA delivers a broad range of programs to advance energy efficiency and renewable energy.

Our experienced staff advises building owners and managers to help them identify and leverage resources and programs to help their buildings achieve their energy goals. 

Weatherization AEA provides training and technical services, including energy audits and related design services, to Weatherization subgrantees in New York State, and as requested in California, Illinois, Connecticut and other states.  In New York City, AEA also directly operates a weatherization program serving income-eligible residential properties in its service territory in the Bronx and central Queens .  The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) in New York State is administered by New York State Homes and Community Renewal (NYSHCR).

New Construction Programs for Low-Income Housing.  AEA advises owners in New York and California to help their projects to meet energy efficiency requirements to qualify them for low income housing tax credits under state housing programs and as Enterprise Green Communities.

Con Edison Multifamily Energy Efficiency Program.  This program provides incentives to building owners that make approved upgrades in eligible multifamily buildings in Con Edison’s service territory in New York City and Westchester County.  AEA has implemented the program since its inception in 2010.  Beginning in June 2016, we have teamed with Willdan Energy Solutions.  WES is the new implementation contractor, enabling AEA to focus more fully on serving Con Edison’s affordable housing customers.

Low-Income Weatherization Program – California.

Energy Upgrade California.  AEA is an approved provider of technical services to owners of multifamily buildings for this program in four California counties.

NYSERDA Multifamily Performance Program.  As a NYSERDA Energy Solutions Provider, AEA guides owners and managers of existing buildings and new construction projects through all steps of the program.

Other NYSERDA programs.  AEA is a BPI-accredited Home Performance Contractor providing direct home energy services under NYSERDA’s Home Performance with Energy Star Program and an implementer of EmPower New York in income-qualifying properties.
